Gallery di Londra continua la sua strada di sperimentazione e
interazione col pubblico col progetto “From Selfie to
Self-Expression”.
Preso
atto che la nuova ritrattistica, superata l’epoca di Rubens, Van
Gogh o Frida Kahlo, è nel selfie, e che oramai tutti sono promotori
di se stessi, ha indetto una iniziativa di grande respiro.
Aperta
una sezione del suo sito a postare i propri selfie e poi essi sono
stati selezionati da un gruppo di artisti, ovvio sponsor il gruppo
Huawei.

The prize will be judged by a panel of renowned artists and forward-thinkers. The ten shortlisted winners will also receive Huawei's newest smartphone, and the overall winner will receive a priceless photographic experience, to be announced at a later date.
The competition coincides with the launch of Saatchi Gallery and Huawei's new exhibition, From Selfie to Self-Expression. The exhibition will open from 31st March – 30th May 2017 and take over one entire floor of the Saatchi Gallery. The show will be the world’s first exhibition exploring the history of the selfie from Velazquez to the present day, while celebrating the truly creative potential of a form of expression often derided for its inanity. Showing alongside examples of many influential artists' work will be selfies that have quickly become icons of the digital era – from the beautiful and sublime to the mad, bad and downright dangerous.
The overall winner will be announced at the launch of the Show at the Saatchi Gallery in London on 30th March 2017.
