Studio visit

A visit to an artist’s studio is generally regarded as the most exclusive of art experiences, reserved only for nearest and dearest gallerists and collectors, or the most privileged of patron’s groups. StudioVisit offers a range of bespoke artist-devised private tours and group visits to artist’s studios throughout the UK and abroad.

Whether you’re an art aficionado seeking a behind-the-scenes view or an art collector looking to acquire new work, you can participate in the unique experience of meeting your favorite artists, discovering insights about their practice, and seeing art at various stages of being created and in the context of its production—in addition to the familiar white cube exhibition space.

A studio visit allows visitors to interact live with the artist, hear about the artist’s inspirations and ask questions which visitors to the artist’s exhibition at an institution would not be able to do. Artists may discuss their work, such as upcoming, current and past exhibitions and projects, and speak about influences related to their artistic practice, conceptual framework and process.

Participating artists design the studio visit experience. Visits may be in person or virtual, and may include seminars, tours, performances or mentoring. Some artists will expand the concept of the studio visit to host unique events such as walks, canoe rides, film screenings, or conversations over lunch.

A purchase of studio visits, tours and seminars from artists supports the artist’s practice. In addition, a portion of the proceeds of your visit will go to support art education programs.
