Artangel announce DIG, a new installation by London-based sculptor Daniel Silver in an abandoned and overgrown site just off Tottenham Court Road in the centre of London.
The site houses figures and fragments, perhaps uncovered from some kind of archaeological investigation. Made in a range of materials including marble, plaster and terracotta, some eroded and deformed, the sculptures guard their secrets jealously. Are they idols, deities or fetishes? What belief system do they belong to?
