Oggi a Oslo apre il nuovo Museo Nazionale, che dopo i lavori durati dal 2003 vede unite le e collezioni dell'ex Galleria Nazionale, del Museo di Arte Contemporanea e del Museo Norvegese di Arti Decorative e Design saranno sotto un unico tetto.
Si tratta di un magnifico edificio progettato dallo studio di Klaus Schuwerk che porta la superficie di uso a quasi 55.000 metri quadrati, nella storica area portuale in completa trasformazione.

Norway’s most extensive collection
The new collection exhibition presents some 6,500 works from Norway’s largest collection of art, architecture and design – from antiquity to the present. Norwegian art, design and architecture are shown here in an international context.
Chronologically arranged, the presentation introduces the distinctive features of Norwegian art up through history, in dialogue with foreign works from the collection. Here, various parts of the collection interact both within and across historical periods.
The exhibition halls also offer scope for immersion, relaxation, and active learning.
