Diogene presenta il secondo appuntamento del progetto “The Unseen”, una nuova iniziativa che intende indagare e rendere visibile il lavoro di ricerca e produzione di conoscenza che è insito nell’operare di ogni artista: il nucleo creativo che resta nascosto, sommerso e nel contempo vitale, fondamentale per ciò che emerge come opera.
Focalizzandosi sulla ricerca artistica come struttura portante del fare arte, The Unseen cerca di affiancare ciascun artista invitato nell’esplorazione del proprio humus creativo, fatto di letture, immagini, oggetti personali, documentandone il processo.
Ciascun incontro si struttura in una sorta di confessione nella quale l’artista si spoglia del rigido sistema della canonica presentazione del proprio lavoro.
Il secondo artista invitato a presentarsi al pubblico con questa modalità è Pierluigi Fresia.
Un pensiero che ancora debba nascere, manifestarsi, sarà immenso; l’immensità la si raggiunge dunque solo prima di iniziare ad espanderci nel dopo, nell’altrove temporale.
La realtà ultima (vera?) sarà sempre un passo oltre a noi incollati biologicamente a quella dimensione che è il tempo puntualmente fedele nel tradirci e abbandonarci al nulla. (Pierluigi Fresia, 2017)
Il progetto The Unseen è il frutto di un percorso di collaborazione iniziato nel 2016 tra Progetto Diogene e un gruppo di artisti torinesi (Alice Benessia, Michela Depetris, Giulia Gallo, Silvia Margaria, Enrico Partengo, Elena Tortia, e Arianna Uda), che in passato hanno partecipato ad iniziative organizzate dall’associazione; il gruppo di artisti è stato invitato ad elaborare in modo autonomo un progetto inedito da presentare al Tram quale parte integrante della programmazione di Progetto Diogene 2017.
Biografia
Pierluigi Fresia (Asti, 1962) al termine degli studi inizia il suo percorso artistico utilizzando la pittura, che affianca sempre più spesso negli anni a venire alla fotografia e alla parola scritta. Opere di Pierluigi Fresia sono state presentate in molte fiere e rassegne d’arte contemporanea e fotografia (ARTISSIMA, Fiera Di Bologna, ArteVerona, MIART, MIA, Arco Madrid, Daegu Photo Biennale, Fotografia Europea Reggio Emilia 2010, 2015), in diverse mostre collettive e personali in spazi istituzionali pubblici e gallerie private e fanno parte di diverse collezioni d’arte contemporanea private, di fondazioni e musei, tra gli altri MART di Rovereto e GAM di Torino.

Diogene presents the second event of “The Unseen”, a new project aimed at investigating and showcasing the research and production of knowledge that is inherent in every artist’s work. That creative core that remains hidden, underground, and that is yet vital, essential for the final artistic outcome.
Focusing on artistic research as the keystone of making art, The Unseen follows every artist involved in exploring his/her creative breeding ground, made of books, pictures, personal objects, and documents the process.
Each event comprises a sort of confession in which the artist does away with the rigid system of the conventional presentation of his/her work.
The second artist who has been invited to display his work in this form is Pierluigi Fresia.
A thought that is yet to see the light, be manifested, will be immense; hence immensity can be attained only before venturing into the future, into the temporal beyond.
The ultimate (true?) reality will always be one step ahead of us, biologically bound to that dimension that is time, unfailingly committed to betraying and leaving us behind. (Pierluigi Fresia 2017)

Biography
After receiving his education, Pierluigi Fresia (Asti, 1962) started his artistic career in painting, a medium that in the following years he would often use alongside photography and the written word.
The works by Pierluigi Fresia have been showcased in many fairs and festivals of contemporary art and photography (ARTISSIMA, Fiera Di Bologna, ArteVerona, MIART, MIA, Arco Madrid, Daegu Photo Biennale, Fotografia Europea Reggio Emilia 2010, 2015), in several collective and solo exhibitions at both public institutions and private galleries. They feature in many private collections, foundations and museums of contemporary art, including MART in Rovereto and GAM in Turin.
