Da alcuni giorni si può vedere il recente intervento dell'artista Costa Vece che ha realizzato presso Blumenfeld School di Zurigo un caleidoscopisco murale.

Estate Manifesta, Zurigo 2016

Nella capitale economica della Svizzera, la prossima estate prenderà corso l’ undicesima edizione della Biennale Manifesta.

Per la prima volta il direttore non sarà il solito curatore/critico ma un artista, Christian Jankowski.

Dopo decenni di svuotamento artistico la figura dell’artista diventa centrale e non marginale, speriamo che sia una buona scelta.

Ma vediamo che cosa potrà succedere.

Il progetto avrà come titolo "Quello che la gente fa per i soldi: alcune joint venture", sarà quindi un incontro fra le realtà territoriali con artisti di varia provenienza, con una particolare interazione con le tantissime strutture presenti sia artistiche che artigianali. Per l’occasione si realizzeranno una trentina di nuove produzioni creative.

Particolarmente coinvolta sarà l’area della Löwenbräukunst-Areal ( dove sono presenti ilMigros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, LUMA Westbau / piscina ecc e Kunsthalle di Zurigo), saranno anche usati il noto Cabaret Voltaire, dove si festeggerà il centenario dei Dada, e l’Helmhaus.

Sarà ideata anche una piattaforma galleggiante posta nell’area di Bellevue denominata "Padiglione delle riflessioni" una struttura polifunzionale, in cui piscina, bar, aree espositive sono miscelate in un’idea di quotidianità creativa.

Il fascino della Persia

La Persia a Zurigo nella stupenda mostra del Museo Rietberg, se siete in zona non perdetela!

Baroque Europe’s artistic engagement with Persia, Safavid Persia’s reception of European paintings and prints, and contemporary works from Tehran, some of them produced specifically for this show, are the three supporting pillars of this exhibition. The past that they reveal sheds a fascinating light on the present.

Four hundred years ago Europe and Persia, today’s Iran, began to inch closer — politically, economically, culturally and artistically. Europe dispatched trading companies and religious orders; the shah sent his ambassadors. Rubens drew inspiration from Persian miniatures; Muhammad Zaman created works after the Italian and French painters Guido Reni and Jacques Stella. Polish nobles appropriated Persian styles of dress; Persian artists discovered the nude as a motif. Occident and Orient were fascinated by their respective otherness; each made its mark on the other.

Cross-cultural exchange is now a global phenomenon. Biennials all over the world assemble works of art from east, west, north, and south, including from Iran. The seven Iranian artists from Tehran represented here appropriate elements from Iran’s past while commenting on today‘s realities. Their works turn on much deeper questions and hence are universally understandable.

La stagione artistica europea riprende da Zurigo

Un’effervescente inizio autunnale a Zurigo per l’arte con una tre giorni, dal 28 al 30 Agosto, di mostre, incontri ed aperture artistiche delle più note realtà espositive della città.

Eventi molto articolate che vanno dalle opere di Sandra Boeschenstein proposte dalla Galerie & Edition Marlene Frei al più popolare Basquiat proposte da Bruno Bischofberger.

 

Oltre sessanta gallerie che avviano la stagione culturale di questa stupenda città elvetica. Le inaugurazione andranno per aree, dal 28 il Zürich Aussersihl, il 29 l’area Limmat, il 30 Lowenbrau e poi una tutta comune.

Zurigo è stata selezionato come città ospitante per Manifesta nel 2016

Oggi è stato annunciato che Zurigo ospiterà la rassegna biennale Manifesta nel 2016. 

Nel 2014 Manifesta si svolgerà nel Museo Statale dell'Ermitage di San Pietroburgo, cosa che ha suscitato molte polemiche visto l'atteggiamento poco umanitario di questo paese.

The board of Manifesta is very proud to announce their selection of the City of Zurich, Switzerland as Host City of Manifesta 11 in 2016.

Since Manifesta’s inception in the early 1990s it’s mission has been to examine the cultural topography of Europe. Every two years it finds a new city or region in which to temporarily embed itself. In the past Manifesta has typically selected peripheral or contested regions as Hosts.

Zurich’s dynamic and complex urban environment will provide a socially, politically and artistically significant trajectory for Manifesta in the coming years.

Zurich has a very long history of artistic and intellectual liberalism. It was historically an incubator for revolutionary political and artistic movements. During periods of historical upheaval in Europe, Zurich offered asylum to intellectuals from around the world. Today’s Zurich is one of the most economically and technologically advanced cities in the world. This rich and rapidly evolving urban setting will give Manifesta 11 the opportunity to explore critical global issues relating to the processes of urbanization, urban space and society while reassessing the role art can play in these.

Manifesta 10 in 2014 will see the Biennial hosted by a historical institution for the first time, the State Hermitage Museum, in the City of St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. After the white cube setting of Manifesta 10 in 2014, the Zurich Bid presented an interesting counterpoint. Based on the concept of the ‘synthesis of the heterogeneous’, the Zurich Bid provided a nuanced vision of the critical potential of Manifesta as a ‘collective experiment’ for Zurich.

Gioconde come funghi?

Dopo una attribuzione del Prado ora spunta dai caveau svizzeri una nuova Gioconda su tela, chiamata Isleworth Mona Lisa. Stranamente rimasta nascosta per decenni. 

Questa pare provenire da un collezionista americano che l'ha rivenduta ad una fondazione che è stata costituita per promuovere questo quadro, non so perché ma la cosa sa proprio di strano.
