10 anni di Parcours Art Basel

Festeggia 10 anni ’iniziativa Parcours che Art Basel organizza nel centro urbano della città coinvolgendo tanti artisti e facendo scoprire stupendi angoli storici.

Quest’anno saranno 20 le opere selezionato e proposte nella grande area di Münsterplatz. Curato per il quarto anno è Samuel Leuenberger, fondatore di SALTS, lo spazio espositivo senza scopo di lucro a Birsfelden, in Svizzera.

Il progetto si intitola "The Impossibility of Being a Sculpture" con le opere di Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Paweł Althamer, Mathis Altmann, Pierre Bismuth, Jos de Gruyter e Harald Thys, Matias Faldbakken, Dan Graham, Laurent Grasso, Irena Haiduk, Camille Henrot, Caitlin Keogh, Germaine Kruip, Ad Minoliti, Antonio Obá, Reto Pulfer, Hassan Sharif, Ron Terada, Daniel Turner, Rinus Van de Velde e Cathy Wilkes.

Sostiene l’iniziativa MGM Resorts Art & Culture.

La località del Rheingasse in Kleinbasel è lo spazio di azione della nuova edizizone di Art Basel “Parcours” per un totale di 15 opere site-specific, ecco l’elenco degli artisti selezionati: Francesco Arena, Darren Bader, Gottfried Bechtold, Pierre Bismuth, Jean-Luc Blanc, Chris Burden, Ryan Gander, Mario García Torres, Mark Handforth, Iman Issa, João Penalva, Seth Price, Eva Rothschild, Guido van der Werve e Zeng Fanzhi.

Parcours, è la sezione ufficiale di Art Basel, che guarda a miscelare il passato e il presente di Basilea, annodando interventi artistici nel tessuto della zona cittadina. Florence Derieux, è il Direttore del FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, curatore di questa edizione, per la seconda volta. La rassegna si  aprirà al pubblico con Parcours Night, Mercoledì 18 Giugno e comprenderà esibizioni speciali con  Guido van der Werve e Mario García Torres.

For the 2014 edition of Art Basel, Parcours will be sited in various locations around the Rheingasse in Kleinbasel, featuring a total of 15 site-specific art works by internationally recognized artists: Francesco Arena, Darren Bader, Gottfried Bechtold, Pierre Bismuth, Jean-Luc Blanc, Chris Burden, Ryan Gander, Mario García Torres, Mark Handforth, Iman Issa, João Penalva, Seth Price, Eva Rothschild, Guido van der Werve, and Zeng Fanzhi.

Parcours, an official sector of Art Basel, looks to engage with Basel’s past and present by weaving artistic interventions into the fabric of the specific location each edition inhabits. Florence Derieux, Director of FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, will curate Parcours for the second year. The sector will open to the public with Parcours Night on Wednesday, June 18, and will include special one-off performances by Guido van der Werve and Mario García Torres.
