Fra pochi giorni si svolgerà la settimana dell’arte contemporanea
a Copenhagen, da diversi anni un bel momento di proposte artistiche

Cph Art Week 2017: SOUND & VISION August 24–September 3, 2017 cphartweek.dk
Grand opening party at Vega on August 24 featuring multimedia artist
Nástio Mosquito, Danish singer Rebecca Molina and many others
The fifth edition of Cph Art Week combines the best of the
contemporary art scene with a sensory extravaganza of sound. When the
festival kicks off at the end of August, the usual array of
exhibitions and arrangements will be supplemented by concerts and
musical performances.
The city’s exhibition spaces and museums join forces as Cph Art
Week proudly presents ten days of the best of the current art scene
in Copenhagen. True to tradition, Cph Art Week will provide
Copenhageners, art lovers and culture fans alike with a massive dose
of contemporary art served up in unusual and ambitious ways. Museums,
galleries, art fairs and exhibition spaces come together to present a
diverse range of exhibitions, performances, openings, artist talks,
guided tours and many other activities, all under the title of SOUND
& VISION. This year’s Cph Art Week 2017 examines the artistic
intersection between sound and vision and presents not just the
latest contemporary art that integrates sound and music, but also the
artists who find inspiration through this universe.
The programme is inspired by natural and man-made sound, analogue and
digital, the conceptual and the popular, and the noisy, melodic and
the poetic. SOUND & VISION investigates how we create and
interpret a cultural and social identity through art’s combination
of images, sound and music.
Special guest star
Once again, Cph Art Week features a specially invited guest—this
year the internationally acclaimed multimedia and performance artist
Nástio Mosquito from Angola. A new raw talent in contemporary art,
he uses charismatic and provocative performances, videos, music and
poetry. This is the first time he appears in Denmark and we are proud
to introduce him. Nástio Mosquito will be performing his performance
concert “Resepctable Thief” at the Grand Opening Party at Vega
and he will also be present in public space with the video “Ser
Humano” and with a concert at the ArtBar.
ArtBar is back
Last year Cph Art Week launched the popular ArtBar (in cooperation
with Copenhagen Contemporary) on Paper Island, a unique waterside
location in the centre of Copenhagen and this year we want to repeat
the success. Every evening during Cph Art Week , ArtBar will feature
free two artists who specialise in sound art and performance. Amongst
the featured artists are Hassan Khan (Egypt), Vinyl, Terror &
Horror (Denmark), Felia Gram Hansen & Eric Andersen (Denmark) and
Danius Kesminas (Australia).
Art in the city
One of Cph Art Week’s trademarks is art in public spaces—where
works and performances can be found on land, water and under
ground—and this year is no exception, as the public space will be
filled with works that connects to the theme SOUND & VISION. In
the metro, visitors can experience site-specific art works with
DIAS-Digital Interactive Art Space. And at the Copenhagen Main
Library a new auditive installation by Danish Artist Group Vinyl,
Terror & Horror is presented. Also the Danish water busses will
feature artistic works and performances.
Cph Art Week opens on August 24 and kicks off with a grand opening
party at Vega featuring numerous artists and musicians, and runs
until September 3 with CODE Art Fair and CHART Art Fair.
